Is it just me or does it seem strange that the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses has this sign in front of their building?

Just curious because they come by my house every Saturday.

Yep, pretty funny at first glance! Until you realize that a "no trespassing" sign is a legal means of protecting your property from, say, people dumping their trash in your yard, or posting placards or political signs, or iviting themselves to the apples growing on your trees, or a host of other things. Then you have legal recourse. Maybe this Kingdom Hall has been subject to vandalism or theft. Any property owner has the right to post a "no tresspassing" sign. It's supposed to keep the bad guys out. It says, in effect, "If you weren't invited, don't come onto this property". How effective it is would be a good question, but it does carry legal implications for violators.

Unfortunately it also projects an attitude of "you're not welcome here", which is the last thing Jehovah's Witnesses want to say to persons coming to the Kingdom Hall to learn about what goes on at the Hall, or to learn about the Bible. However, nearly always the people who come to the Kingdom Hall have been invited, so the "no tresspassing" sign is a moot point in that case.

I can see why you'd laugh, though. LOL!

Jehovah's Witnesses stop and come up to your door at your house every Saturday? You must live in a really small town with a huge number of Jehovah's Witnesses living there. Or else you just might be exaggerating a little bit.

Funny picture/comment, in any case.

That is funny. Maybe they need to re-think that sign!
